The Last Five Years

OSEN is proud to be putting on their first ever musical of The Last Five Years. Come audition to join our cast! See below for all information regarding this production.

Show Summary:  An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Roles:

Catherine Hiatt

Character Summary: Character arcs from an ambitious, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship to a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand.

Gender: Female

Age: 21 to 35

Vocal Range: D#5 to F3

Jamie Wellerstein

Character Summary: Character arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling career to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotage his own happiness.

Gender: Male

Age: 21 to 35

Vocal Range: Bb4 to A2

Tech Week: November 9th through November 13th during the evening hours

Show Dates: November 14th and 15th at 7 PM and November 16th at 1 PM

Audition Information:

Auditions will be conducted in-person and through online video submissions. See below for information for both types of auditions.

In-Person Audition Information

Date: Wednesday, August 6th

Time: 5 – 8 PM

Location: Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall, 1025 N. Milwaukee Street, Milwaukee, WI, 53202 – Room 129

Virtual Audition Information Submissions

Open: Saturday, August 2nd 

Submissions Close: Thursday, August 7th 

How to Submit: Submit your audition by sending an email to  dscovill@oldschoolentertainmentnight.org

Audition Materials:

1. Please prepare a 32-bar section of a show-appropriate song. You may sing any song that you think will showcase your singing ability. Accompaniment or backing tracks are not required for the song. If accompaniment or backing tracks are included, please make sure that your vocals can be heard clearly. 
2. Fill out the Audition Form to the best of your ability. Attach completed audition forms in your email if submitting a virtual audition. Physical filled out forms should be brought to in-person auditions. Printed forms will be available at auditions if you are unable to access a printer. 3. Headshots are not required.
